Market Information

Duotrope’s Digest
” . . . an award-winning, free writers’ resource listing over 3475 current Fiction and Poetry publications.” Their search page will allow you to search for markets by genre, length, pay scale, and assorted other criteria.

Predators and Editors
A market list with a twist. This isn’t so much about telling you what markets might want your work, it’s about telling you what markets are dangerous to an author. Includes information about poor treatment, poor contracts, broken links, markets that charge a fee, etc. Before you submit anywhere, double-check the market’s reputation here.

Ralan’s SpecFic & Humor Webstravaganza
Ralan maintains the grandfather of all speculative fiction (SF/F/H) market lists.

NewPages.com’s listing of calls for submissions. NewPages.com hawks itself as “News, information and guides to independent bookstores, independent publishers, literary magazines, alternative periodicals, independent record labels, alternative newsweeklies and more,” and most of the calls for submissions they post come from markets which are already listed elsewhere on their website.

D.L. Snell’s Market Scoops
D.L. Snell is an author and editor who does interviews with the editors of certain fiction markets. These interviews are a great way to get more information about what an editor is really looking for with regards to a particular call for submissions.
